01
Agreement
These Terms are an agreement between you and Varidac Inc. (“Varidac”, “we”, “us”), the maker of Interview Studio. By ticking “Yes, I agree” to automatic renewal on our subscribe page and subscribing at checkout (including ticking the box there), or by using Interview Studio, you agree to these Terms and confirm that you have read our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't subscribe or use the service.
02
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract. A subscription is for one person's own interview preparation.
03
The subscription and automatic renewal
- Price: $79 a month in US dollars plus any sales tax, VAT or GST that applies where you live. If you pay in your local currency, each charge is converted from $79 at that day's rate (Stripe's), including a conversion fee of about 2–4%, so it can vary from month to month. You can choose to pay in US dollars at checkout instead. Exchange-rate variation isn't a change to our price, which changes only with the notice described below.
- Billing: you're charged when you subscribe and then automatically each month on your billing date — the day of the month you subscribed, or the last day of the month in shorter months. The subscription continues until you cancel it. There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee.
- Your agreement to automatic renewal: before checkout, our subscribe page shows these renewal terms next to a “Yes, I agree” box, which you tick to continue. We keep a record of when you agreed and to which wording (no IP address) for at least three years, or one year after your subscription ends if that is later. After you subscribe we email you these terms, including how to cancel, so you have a copy to keep.
- Payment: Interview Studio is sold through Link, a Stripe company, which is the merchant of record for your payment. Link's terms and privacy policy apply to the payment itself; these Terms govern your use of Interview Studio. Receipts and billing emails come from Link, and your card statement will show LINK.COM* followed by our statement descriptor. You can also contact Link support about payment or refund questions.
- Failed payments: if a payment fails, it is retried and Link emails you. If it still can't be collected after those retries, the subscription is cancelled and the features that use the AI model stop working.
- Price or term changes: we'll email you about a price change between 7 and 30 days before it takes effect, and about any other material change to these subscription terms before it takes effect, each time with how to cancel. If you don't want the change, cancel before it takes effect.
04
Cancelling and refunds
- How to cancel: any of four ways, whichever you prefer. In the app: open Settings → Your subscription (the Cancel subscription link at the foot of every screen takes you there) and press Cancel subscription. That one press cancels it — you don't sign in to Stripe or anywhere else, and we don't ask why — and the page then shows the date your access ends; we also email you a confirmation. Pressed it by mistake? Keep my subscription on the same page undoes it until that date. On your subscription page: open studio.varidac.com/billing (Stripe's customer portal; Manage on Stripe in the app opens it), enter the email you subscribed with, open the sign-in link Stripe emails you, press Cancel subscription and confirm. By email: write to contact@varidac.com with “Cancel” in the subject, from the address you subscribed with or including that address or your licence id (the IS-… part of your key before the second dash; Settings → Your subscription → Cancel by email opens a ready-to-send one with it filled in); nothing else is needed. An emailed cancellation counts from when it reaches us (like any cancellation, it takes effect at the end of the month you've paid for), and we confirm it by reply within 24 hours. Through Link: cancel from your Link account at link.com, signing in with the email you subscribed with (if you paid without a Link account, Link asks you to create one first). We don't ask for a reason or make you an offer.
- When it takes effect: at the end of your current paid month. You keep full access until then, and you won't be charged again. If your cancellation reaches us before your renewal date and a renewal charge still goes through, we'll refund it in full.
- Your data after cancelling: everything you created stays in your browser and the app still opens (choose “Open without AI features” if it asks for a licence); the features that use the AI model stop. You can export your material from Settings at any time (voice recordings aren't included in the export). A browser can clear a site's storage if the device runs very low on space, so keep an export.
- Refunds: if your first month doesn't do what our website describes, email us within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund; we then cancel the subscription and access ends when the refund is issued. Otherwise payments are non-refundable and we don't refund part-months, except where the law requires it.
- If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you may also have a legal right to withdraw within 14 days of subscribing; we will honour it. Email contact@varidac.com with the subject “Withdraw”.
- If we discontinue Interview Studio, we'll give you notice and refund any unused part of your current month.
05
Your licence
- After you subscribe you receive a personal licence key. It is for your use only and may be used in up to three browsers. A private window, another browser profile or clearing a browser's site data counts as a new browser; email us and we'll reset them. Please don't share your key or sell access to it.
- Each month your licence includes an allowance of AI model usage, which resets at 00:00 UTC on the 1st. It is generous for normal interview preparation; if it runs out early, features that use the model pause until then — email us and we can top it up. We also limit how many requests each feature can make per minute and per day (daily limits reset at midnight UTC), to keep the service fair and prevent automated use.
- We may suspend or revoke a licence that is shared, resold, used to abuse the service, or linked to a payment that is disputed or not made. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you first.
06
Your content
- You own what you put into Interview Studio — your résumés, notes, transcripts, answers and recordings. It is stored in your browser. You give us permission only to send the parts a feature needs to the AI model provider to produce your results, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- You are responsible for having the right to use what you upload. Please don't upload material you are obliged to keep confidential — for example an employer's confidential information or a take-home assignment you received under a confidentiality agreement — or other people's personal information without the right to use it.
- Recordings and transcripts: only upload a recording or transcript of a conversation if everyone in it agreed to it being recorded. In California and many other places, recording a private conversation without everyone's consent is against the law.
07
Using it in interviews, and AI output
- Interview Studio helps you prepare, and can show you prompts during a live interview. Some employers and interview processes don't allow AI assistance. It is your responsibility to know and follow the rules of any process you take part in.
- Listening to you, or to the interviewer. Live mode can listen to you through your microphone (wear earbuds or headphones so other people aren't picked up; unless on-device recognition is on, your browser sends what the microphone hears to Google (Chrome) or Microsoft (Edge) to turn it into text). If you switch on Listen to the interviewer, it hears the call's sound from the browser tab or screen you choose to share and turns it into text on your computer only — it isn't recorded, isn't sent to us, to your browser provider or to the AI model, and is discarded when the session ends.
- You are responsible for using these features lawfully. In California and many other places, transcribing, recording or listening in on a confidential conversation requires the consent of everyone in it, and many employers don't allow AI assistance in interviews. Before you use Listen to the interviewer or let the microphone pick up anyone else, it is your responsibility — not Varidac's — to get any consent the law requires and to follow the rules of the process you're in.
- Suggestions, cue cards, scores and résumé text are generated by AI from what you've given it. They can be wrong or incomplete — check them before you rely on them, and never present experience you don't have.
- Interview Studio does not guarantee any interview result or job offer, and is not career, legal or other professional advice.
08
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- use Interview Studio for anything unlawful;
- share, resell or sublicense access, or use one licence for several people;
- use automated means to access it at volume, scrape it, or overload or probe our systems;
- try to extract our model key, get around usage limits, or access anything you're not entitled to;
- reverse-engineer the service, except where the law allows it; or
- use it to impersonate someone, harass anyone, or create content that breaks the model provider's usage policies.
09
Our content
The Interview Studio app, its question bank, frameworks, writing and design belong to Varidac. While your subscription is active, and afterwards for the copy already in your browser, you may use them for your own interview preparation. Please don't copy, publish or redistribute them, including the question bank.
10
Other services
Interview Studio relies on Link and Stripe for payments, Anthropic for the AI model, Vercel and Redis for hosting, Resend for service emails, and your browser's speech features for voice. Their own terms apply to their parts of the service. We're not responsible for their outages, but we'll do what we reasonably can when they affect you.
11
Changes to the service and these Terms
We may improve, change or remove features. We'll email you about any change to the price between 7 and 30 days before it takes effect, and about any other material change to the subscription terms above before it takes effect. We'll post other changes to these Terms here with a new effective date; if a change materially affects you, we'll email you. If you don't agree with a change, you can cancel before it takes effect.
12
Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Interview Studio accurate and available, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under consumer-protection laws that cannot be excluded.
13
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Varidac is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost opportunities, profits or data, arising from your use of Interview Studio. Our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to the amount you paid in the three months before the claim arose. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
14
Ending this agreement
You can end this agreement at any time by cancelling your subscription. We can end it or suspend your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms. Sections that by their nature should continue — such as your content, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law — continue after it ends.
15
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Alameda County, California. If you live outside the United States, you also keep the protections of the consumer laws of your country and may bring a claim in your local courts. Before starting a formal dispute, please email us so we can try to resolve it — most things can be sorted out quickly.
